GENERAL QUESTIONS:
Q. How often do I have to use the X5 to see benefits?
A. The X5 is indicated for use three times per week for 10-15 minutes per session. It can be used on wet or dry hair and since it is cordless, can be used at a location of your choosing.
[back]
Q. How long will it take to see benefits?
A. As with any treatment for hair loss, benefits are not achieved over night. Some users report a noticeable difference in their hair after about two months while for others it can take anywhere from three to six months to notice a positive change.

Q. What physical action is required to use the X5?
A. The X5 should be used with a step technique. The step technique involves starting at the front of the hairline, holding the X5 in place, waiting about 4 seconds and then advancing back an inch. This method should be completed until the whole scalp has been covered at least once.

Q. I’m completely bald and want to use the X5. Will it work for me?
A. The chances are good that if you’re completely bald the X5 (or any hair loss treatment for that matter) will probably not work for you.

Q. How much hair do I have to have left to use the X5?
A. There is no requirement for how much or how little hair you must have for the X5 to work for you. The only requirement is that you have something.

QUESTIONS ABOUT LASER LIGHT THERAPY:
Q. What exactly is Laser Light Therapy?
A. Laser Light Therapy is the science by which low intensity lasers are used to treat certain ailments.
[back]
Q. How does Laser Light Therapy work?
A. While clinical studies have taken place indicating the effectiveness of Laser Light Therapy on ailments like hair loss, carpal tunnel syndrome and acne, the mechanism of action of LLT is still not fully understood.
[back]
Q. If the mechanism of action is not fully understood, are there any hypotheses or scientific research initiatives currently taking place to explain how LLT works?
A. Absolutely. Since LLT became one of the leading hair loss treatments around 2000, scientific research has been ongoing to attempt to explain how the lasers interact with individual follicles to cause the positive benefits that hair loss sufferers routinely report.
[back]
Q. I’ve heard that LLT is similar to photosynthesis in that the laser light “feeds” the hair, is this correct?
A. Again, it is difficult to say. Bio-stimulation, the process by which light causes something (in this case hair) to grow, is considered by some to be a plausible explanation of how LLT actually works. The truth, though, is that the science is simply too young to be fully understood and at this point, the Bio-stimulation theory is still only hypothetical.
[back]
Q. Where did LLT for hair loss originate?
A. LLT has actually been around for decades. Early LLT devices resembled large hair dryers and were available only in expensive salons, particularly in Europe. These laser “hoods” (as they are known) use numerous individual lasers to deliver light energy to the scalp.
[back]
Q. Do doctors support the use of LLT for hair loss?
A. Most definitely. A growing number of dermatologists around the world have and continue to support the use of LLT for hair loss sufferers.
[back]
Q. What are the benefits of LLT versus Rogaine or Propecia?
A. There are actually several factors that make LLT the best alternative for some hair loss sufferers. The X5 is a one-time investment, requires no prescription or doctors visits, doesn’t require daily application, causes no side effects and isn’t difficult or messy to apply.

QUESTIONS ABOUT SAFETY:
Q. Are there any negative side effects associated with using the X5?
A. No, the X5 has been shown to cause absolutely no side effects. As a rule, low level laser therapy in general is not known to produce any known side effects.
[back]
Q. Are the lasers used by the X5 regulated for safety?
A. Yes, the X5 uses class 3R lasers which are the US government standard for safe, at home laser use.
[back]
Q. Do the lasers emit any heat or radiation?
A. Absolutely not. The lasers used in the X5 are non-heat emitting lasers. Also known as “cold beam” lasers, they give off no heat or radiation and are completely safe for use as dermatological products.
[back]
Q. How far does the laser penetrate beneath the skin?
A. The laser just reaches below the epidermal layer but does not fully penetrate all layers of the skin. The laser is made specifically to target the hair at the follicular level, without penetrating the lowest (non-hair bearing) portions of the scalp.
[back]
Q. I am a woman. Is the X5 safe for me to use?
A. Most definitely. Since the X5 does not interact with the hormones in your body, the X5 is safe for use by both men and women.
[back]
Q. I am pregnant and/or nursing. Can I still use the X5?
A. We recommend seeking the advice of your physician if you are pregnant and/or nursing. While we have seen pregnant women use the X5 with no consequence, this is no substitute for the advice of a medical professional.
[back]
Q. Are there any age restrictions on using the X5?
A. No. We have seen users from 18 to over 80 use the product and be equally satisfied with their results. If you are below 18 we don’t recommend using the X5 without seeking the advice of your doctor.
[back]
Q. I use Propecia and/or Minoxidil (Rogaine). Can I still use the X5 with these products?
A. Absolutely. Propecia and Minoxidil are both drug based products that work systemically to help hair loss. Since the X5 does not interact with the body on a systemic level, there are no contraindications for either Propecia or Minoxidil.
[back]
Q. I use a special shampoo and/or conditioner, is the X5 still safe for use?
A. Yes. Actually, we find that many people who are losing their hair actually use certain types of shampoos and or conditioners to help with other scalp conditions. This is completely normal and will not affect your treatment with the X5.
